Old Skool Techno & Breakbeat

Thanks for making your way over to our latest mix session, if you take the time to listen through the set please leave us a comment with what you thought.

This is a recording of our last show on LondonPirateRadio.co.uk which was only two hours – we’ll be back to four hour shows from next week.

The set starts with some old skool house/techno from the early 90s before some lumpy basslines and breakbeat and finishing off with some old UK hardcore.

This week we’ve loved the sounds from Jay (Renascence 001), Peter (Roundtrip: Amsterdam), Ivan (ϖ THE ARSONIST ϖ) and Sista-Matic (Sista-Matic – Old Skool Hardcore Show (92/93) – London Pirate Radio 2/4/2016). If you have a chance take a listen and leave a comment on their shows.

Limitless – Beats from the Underground

Arhh me hearties – here’s last week’s live set on LondonPirateRadio.co.uk which started out with some old skool techno trance before bouncing through some broken beats and off into tech house with some progressive sounds sneaking in here and there.

We really enjoyed putting together this mix as it encompases a lot of different genres and feels like a real rollercoaster of energy & mood throughout the 4 hour journey.

Recommended sets for you to listen to this week come from Marc (Smi043 – Artcore (Drum n Bass) Mix), Paul (The Light Reflected Mix 2016), Sean (DEEPDOM – Soul Sessions #11) and The Snooze on NSB Radio ([099] WallPlugTuna on NSB Radio)

What do you think? Tell us in the comments below. Cheers Ben & Dan

Broken Beats & Tech House Treats

Welcome to another week! This week’s set was recorded live again for londonpirateradio.co.uk and starts off with 90 minutes of breakbeat before moving into tech house, a little minimal and some deeper techno and house sounds.

Favourite sets from other DJ’s this week include those from Marc (The number 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything 😉), Peter (Antarctica 2 (Polar Night)), RoKo (RoKo LiVe…. on londonpirateradio.co.uk) and Mattie G (Mattie G – London Pirate Radio – Return of the hardcore part 2 – Early – mid 90’s Hardcore) so check them out for some deep tech and drum and bass/breakbeat.

What do you think of this week’s set? Do any tunes stand out for you in particular? What mixes have you listened to that you loved this week?

Cheers, Dan & Ben

Old Skool Hardcore Breakbeat – londonpirateradio.co.uk

Last week we covered another slot for londonpirateradio.co.uk on Friday evening which felt like the perfect time to dip into our old UK Hardcore and Breakbeat tunes.

This set sets a good pace from the start with plenty of classic tunes and a few jungle and remixes thrown in too.

It’s the first purely old skool mix we’ve released here so we’d love to hear whether you enjoyed it and any tunes which stand out for you. Cheers, Dan & Ben

ORKIST live on LondonPirateRadio.co.uk

Last week’s set on www.londonpirateradio.co.uk – starting out with some full on breaks, then dipping into some progressive and tech house before more breakbeat throught to the end of the mix.

It was our first show on LPR – we really enjoyed and you can catch us live every week from 10pm-12am Tuesday evenings (UK time).

Thanks for listening and as always, we’d love to hear what you think of the set – cheers, Dan & Ben

BreakFeast – Nu Skool Breaks & Breakbeat

It’s the weekend and as promised here’s a little breaks mix to start your day off in the right mood. In our opinion you can’t beat a very good breakbeat track, you can include so many elements from different genres in breakbeat while still sounding completely unique and fresh.

Let us know whether this set hits the spot for you and whether you’d like us to post some more solely breakbeat mixes. We know there are a lot of new mixes which you’ve contacted us about and we have them scheduled to listen to, so will be commenting over the coming days. As ever, thanks for your support and positive energy – Dan & Ben

P.S. Let us know of any sets you’ve really enjoyed this week in the comments..

Breakbeat Classics, Old School Drum & Bass and Hardcore

Time for a bit of fun. This is a classic drum and bass/jungle and old school hardcore set. These are genres from our early 20’s when the rave scene was in full flow here in the UK. Parties were free and the atmosphere and music were the most important elements of the night.

The DJ’s travelled across the country throughout the night to play up to 5 venues in a single night and any promising DJ’s, sometimes as young as 14 or 15 were welcomed into the scene to play sets in front of hundreds of happy music lovers.

Let us know what you think in the comments – and thanks for listening! Dan & Ben.

Hola amigos – we’ve had a great week being introduced to so many new and amazing DJ’s and tracks. Particularly enjoyed Nina Kravitz on BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06vfz4p) if you missed it, it’s worth a listen if you love minimal and having just bought tickets to see Koma & Bones play for the frst time in many years we have to mention one of their best sets too (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIma5Vho1gg).

This week’s set is a journey from breakbeat to minimal and back again, bringing in some tech house sounds here and there before some older breaks to round it all off.

Hope you enjoy – let us know if it works for you, Dan & Ben.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by. We’ve been enjoying so many of the recent mixes being posted on here, in particular Sean’s recent breaks mix was so so good (BRING THAT BREAK BACK!).

This set wasn’t planned in any way, we just picked a starting tune and let the mix flow from there. Loads of tracks we’ve not played before with plenty of broken beats and darker sounds. We really had a lot of fun putting this together so hope it’s as good for you listening back as it was for us to make.

This set is mainly bass and beats driven but there’s maybe more of a house vibe going on this week. We start off on our 1.5 hour journey with some breaks and then flow through some tech house dropping in a little minimal and electro along the way.

We really appreciate you taking the time to check out our mixes and thanks for all the positive feedback!
